NANDIKAR IS GOING TOWARDS ''50''

NANDIKAR is the renowned theatre group in Bengal. It started under the leadership of Ajitesh Bandhyopdhyay on 29 June, 1960. 2010 will be its golden jubilee year. So let’s go to see its contribution in Bengali theatre. NANDIKAR visits districts, other state in India and abroad and presents their productions. The National Theatre Festival being organized each year since 1984. Many theatre groups all over in India and indeed other countries have participated in this festivals. All the year round NANDIKAR conducts drama workshops for children, youths , school children and sex workers etc.NANDIKAR’S first production was BEDEHI(Bengali adaptation of Ibsen’s Ghosts) on 11 september 1960.
